OPERATIONS DIVISION

Standard Operating Procedures

1. Safety and Incident Reporting

1.1 Mandatory Occurrence Reporting (MOR)

All pilots are mandated to report safety-related incidents via the Discord #incident-reports channel within 24 hours.

  • Hard Landings: Exceeding 600 fpm or 2.2G.
  • Airframe Damage: Tail/Wing/Engine strikes during any phase.
  • Fuel: Landing with < 30m reserve or < 5% total fuel.
  • Incursions: Runway incursions or loss of separation (< 1000ft vertical, < 3nm lateral).

1.2 Unstable Approach Criteria

A "Go-Around" is MANDATORY if the following are not met by 1,000ft (IMC) or 500ft (VMC):

  • Planned Landing Configuration (Flaps/Gear).
  • Speed within -5 to +10 kts of Vref.
  • Vertical Speed < 1,000 fpm.
  • Engines stabilized at approach thrust.

1.3 Ground Operations & Safety

Taxi speed must not exceed 25 kts on straightaways and 10 kts in turns. Pilots must use exterior lighting as follows:

  • Beacons: On before engine start, off after shutdown.
  • Taxis: On when moving on ground.
  • Strobes: On when entering the active runway.
  • Landings: On below 10,000ft AGL.

1.4 Professionalism & Conduct

Pilots should use "DLH" callsigns in GeoFS. Harassment or intentionally disrupting other GeoFS players is grounds for immediate termination and/or investigation with possible demotion.

2. Weather and Environmental Limits

2.1 Wind Restrictions

ConditionNarrowbodyWidebody
Max Crosswind (Dry)30 KTS35 KTS
Max Crosswind (Wet)20 KTS25 KTS
Max Tailwind10 KTS15 KTS
Max Gust Spread15 KTS20 KTS

2.2 Severe Weather Avoidance

  • Thunderstorms: 20nm clearance from red/magenta cells.
  • Severe Turbulence: Reduce to VA (Maneuvering Speed) and set ignition to CONT/ON.
  • Low Visibility: CAT II/III ILS required for visibility < 550m.

3. Speed & Flight Management

3.1 Speed Schedule

  • Below 10,000ft: 250 KIAS Max.
  • Below 3,000ft: 220 KIAS Max.
  • Approach: Clean (210), Flaps 1 (190), Flaps 2 (170).

3.2 Altitude & Navigation

RVSM logic applies above FL290. Semicircular Rule:

  • 000-179°: Odd FL (310, 330, 350).
  • 180-359°: Even FL (320, 340, 360).

4.1 Airbus A320/A321

Takeoff & Climb

  • Rotation (Vr): 145 KIAS. 15° Pitch.
  • Thrust: FLX/MCT. TOGA only for short/contaminated runways.

Landing

  • Vref: 135-140 KIAS (Flaps Full).
  • Flare: Start at 20ft. Retard thrust at "Retard" callout.

4.2 Airbus A350-900

Performance

  • Rotation: 155 KIAS.
  • Cruise: Mach 0.85. Max FL431.

Landing Configuration

  • Vref: 145 KIAS.
  • Note: 2-3° landing pitch. Avoid over-flaring (tail strike risk).

4.7 Boeing 747-8i

Operations

  • Rotation: 165 KIAS. 12.5° Pitch.
  • Vref: 155 KIAS (Flaps 30).
  • Taxi: Main gear steering active. Max 10 kts in turns.

4.8 Bombardier CRJ-700

Stall Warning

No leading-edge slats. High Alpha = Instant Stall. Maintain speed in turns.

Landing

  • Vref: 130 KIAS.
  • Pitch: Do not exceed 3° pitch at 10ft. "Fly" it onto the deck.
